10,000 members and growing?! Signs and Wonders?!

FALSE PROPHETS WILL APPEAR AND PERFROM GREAT SIGNS AND MIRACLES TO DECEIVE EVEN THE ELECT, IF THAT WERE POSSIBLE(MT.24:24)

I’ve taken a long break and have decided to respond to copy and paste claims from the common Stockstillians defending Bethany World Prayer Center. It seems they have given up on the “personal opinions defense” such as:

 

  1. You’re wrong and I don’t have to offer proof, that ‘s my belief
  2. You’re obviously upset
  3. You’re a jerk
  4. You’re the devil
  5. You have unforgiveness
  6. O.K., Joel was wrong but we should NEVER speak against prophets
  7. Joel has had false prophecies but it’s o.k. no prophet was perfect
  8. It’s not about bible study, it’s about signs and wonders

 

Now their proof that I’m wrong about the Stockstills Ministry is based on another STRAW HOUSE,I.E., various and often conflicting calculations of their membership. I’ve heard the exact same number, 10,000, for years! Then as noted in past articles they claim hundreds and sometimes thousands have been “saved” in the Baton Rouge Metro’ area in a single weekend and crowd Bethany’s various congregations consistently. 

So, according to the Bible are MANY followers the ONLY proof that a prophet is true and we should turn a blind eye to that prophet’s failed prophecies? If a man arrives and claims to be annointed, will you turn a blind eye to his teachings because of the numbers that attend his sermons?

Matthew 7:15–23 (ESV)

15“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

16You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

17So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.

18A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.

19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

22On that day MANY will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord,

  • did we not prophesy in your name
  •  and cast out demons in your name
  •  and do MANY mighty works in your name?’

23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Christ describes this group of people who follow false prophets as “MANY” not few. It should be obvious Christ did not say, “Well, False Prophet atleast you brought MANY IN MY NAME. Good Job!”.

Instead Christ on Judgement Day explicity tells us that he is unconcerned about QUANITY(many) and wants QUALITY(good fruit). These MANY are called before Christ to give an accounting to their conduct. They obviously knew this person to be a False Prophet yet followed him. These MANY want Christ to ignore the fact that this Prophet is indeed false. These MANY want Christ to look at:

  • DID WE NOT PROPHESY IN YOUR NAME
  • AND CAST OUT DEMONS IN YOUR NAME
  • AND DO MANY MIGHTY WORKS IN YOUR NAME

All of that meant nothing. These warnings have been in place from old:

Jeremiah 5:31 (ESV)

31the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?

What will you do when the end comes?! Read what The Sciptures teach and warn about False Prophets! How does The Scriptures describe False Prophets? What will happen if I turn a blind eye when my pastor’s prophecy claims don’t come to past and fail? “What will you do when the end comes(Jer.5:31)?

Will you turn a blind eye when your Pastor/Prophet is obviously using Scripture for unjust gain?

Jeremiah 6:13 (ESV)

13“For from the least to the greatest of them, everyone is greedy for unjust gain; and from prophet to priest, everyone deals falsely.

Mark 13:22–23 (ESV)

22For false christs and FALSE PROPHETS WILL ARISE AND PERFORM SIGNS AND WONDERS, TO LEAD ASTRAY, if possible, the elect.

23But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand.

Christ tells us that Signs and Wonders are not proof in of themselves. In The Last Days it’s “TO LEAD ASTRAY“.
