First,I don’t want to argue with you I just wanted to pass on some information. Please don’t respond to my email, just F.Y.I.
I’m CAUCASIAN/WHITE and this is common knowledge among the whites in our cells. As Bethany’s Baker Campus turned black, everyone was suprised and that’s where Joel was put since he’s a young person and knows they hip hop styles. It’s sorta like Downtown New Orleans that used to be white back in the day but everyone white began leaving and it turned black.They sending whites back there to worship with the blacks. This is what happened to Bethany North.
The other thing, the young blacks at Bethany North are not old enough to remember things like Gov. Foster, David Duke, Tony Perkins and Woody Jenkins and they don’t watch Fox News or are aware of Rush Limbaugh’s commenting on his radio show. If these things are hidden from they and their parents, the blacks simply put faith in Pastor Larry.
I’m actually torn on what to do. Everyone knows that they were pushing the blacks to vote for McCain and Palin but it seriously backfired and is causing ripples to this day. It just feels odd now worshippin at Bethany. The tension is there but we try to ignore it.

But yeah the Stockstills are rarely around during the week anymore. I found out from the inside they got tired of answering questions so they best way to avoid them is leave the congregation during the weekday.
This isn’t the Bethany I grew up in. There were no political ties, nobody claiming to be a prophet, nobody coercing you to vote for their person, we actually use to have leaders repent when they sinned BUT NOW they just blame the congregation for not praying for them.
I’m seriously torn on what to do. My feelings tell me to stay but my common sense shouts “WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING HERE IDIOT!!!”. I know what the Bible says but….it’s not easy to leave long time friends. I guess it’s a self check on who I follow, Christ or friends? I dunno……it’s just sad to see my church go unrepentant, greedy, and decieve like this. OVADYAH I PROMISE YOU IT WASN’T LIKE THIS AT FIRST.
Trust me, you’re in my prayers. I PRAY FOR BOTH BLACK AND WHITE CONGREGANTS AT BETHANY! Look not to The Stockstills but real prophets like the ones in Scripture. They didn’t have MegaChurches and crowded conferences. Jeremiah went against the grain and was thrown in a pit, Daniel went to Lions, the prophets during Elijah’s time were slaughtered and Christ was tortured on an execution stake. Joel tries to appoint himself in a Propeht’s position but his double standard and failed prophecies make him FALSE. Keep your head in Scripture and meditate in prayer, the worst thing you can do is base your reactions on “emotion”.
